The science and technology entrance results are out

The test was sat on ጳጉሜን 04, 2018 E.C., which is 9 September 2026, by everyone who registered online with either university. Adama Science and Technology University announced on መስከረም 02, 2019 E.C., which is 12 September 2026, that the results would open from 9:00 that morning, and its announcement says the page covers applicants to Adama and to Addis Ababa alike.

The portal returns the admission number, the full name, the field or stream, the status and the institution the applicant has been placed at. Its own help text is worth reading before you decide the page is broken: use six digits for the admission number, and enter your first name alone.

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University also gives its own applicants a page at aastu.edu.et/result, headed AASTU 2018 E.C. Admission Results, which asks for the same admission number and first name.

On the same day, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University published a signed notice from its Registrar and Alumni Directorate giving the cut-off for its own intake. It opens by congratulating applicants who made the university their first choice, passed the entrance test and have been assigned a place.

The notice says twice that these marks belong to Addis Ababa Science and Technology alone, and that they apply only to applicants who chose the university. Adama has published no cut-off of its own, so there is no second pair of numbers to compare these with.

The notice prints its own arithmetic, which the summaries carrying it left out. Your average is built in three steps:

1. 1Your Grade 12 result is converted to a percentage out of 100.
2. 2Your entrance test result is taken out of 100.
3. 3Your score is the average of those two numbers.

The notice closes by saying the university will announce the registration time and the rest of what a new student needs soon, and asks applicants to follow its website and its social media pages for it.
